28 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” Matthew 11:28-30
My daughter texted me this verse this morning along with these words “I love you, have a peaceful day.” Today did end up being far more peaceful than yesterday and I am so thankful for that. Yesterday was one of those days where I gave into and allowed the horrendous behavior of someone else to knock me for a loop. I’m not sure if I can blame their actions on a full moon or bad weather, but it sure came at the most inconvenient of times. I found myself daydreaming about running into the nearest wooded area to scream and pull my hair out by the roots. This was one of those days that even a long hot Jacuzzi bath wouldn’t help. I’ve slept since then and went to sleep praying for direction and peace. Today was much better and much quieter. Yes, and even peaceful at times. Thank you, Celeste, for praying for your tired stressed out momma and thank you, Jesus, for a new and brighter day every day regardless of what the day before brought.
You know, if Jesus was into texting I believe that he’d send us all a group message that would say “I love you, have a peaceful day.” After all He has offered us the perfect peace that this world can’t give. We just get so caught up in the flow of our own pursuits and worries we forget His words. Just another really good reason to get into His word and hide those words in our hearts for when we need them.
